The Mysterious Giant Buddha

The story took place before liberation. Situ Jun (played by Zhang Shunsheng) living in Singapore received a letter from Ankang, a pilgrim, claiming to discuss with him in Leshan the information left by his father. Situ Jun hurried back to China and met Weng Jianming, an old classmate who was the police chief. He learned that there was a rumor here that there were Buddhist treasures hidden around the Leshan Giant Buddha, and many people had died as a result. The appearance of Situ Jun attracted the attention of many people. The powerful local figure Sha Duoye (played by Ge Cunzhuang) sent someone to force him to do so; the teacher of the Sha family, Meng Jie (played by Liu Xiaoqing), was secretly following him; Weng Jianming was also very concerned about the motives of his trip. Situ Jun searched around for Ankang's whereabouts, but was attacked by gangsters on the way. Fortunately, a mysterious man secretly helped him.
