What is it that shapes the real you? The movie will focus on Joey Gauner (voiced by Jamie Foxx). This high school music teacher gets a dream opportunity - playing in New York's best jazz club. But a small mistake takes him from the streets of New York to a fantasy place called the Great Before. There, souls receive training and acquire their personality traits and interests before traveling to Earth. Determined to return to earth, Joey meets a precocious soul "Twenty-Two" (voiced by Tina Fey). Twenty-Two has never been able to find his interest in human life. As Joey continues to try to show Twenty-Two the wonders of life, he will also learn the answers to some of life's ultimate questions.
