After a difficult test, the carefree human youth Jonathan (voiced by Andy Samberg) finally entered into marriage with the vampire girl Mavis (voiced by Selena Gomez), and the monsters represented by Mavis's father Dracula (voiced by Adam Sandler) have closer relationships with humans than ever before. Shortly after their marriage, Mavis gave birth to her adorable son Dennis. The little guy is growing up day by day, and Grandpa Dracula loves him very much. He eagerly hopes that Dennis can grow into an outstanding vampire. In contrast, Mavis believes that her son is an ordinary human child. She hopes to bring Dennis into a civilized society and stay away from the violent and bloody world of monsters. In order to prevent his daughter's family from leaving, Dracula found a way to take away Mavis, and at the same time called on a bunch of buddies such as Frankenstein, the Werewolf, the Transparent Man, and the Mummy to launch a vampire education training for Dennis within a limited time. There are differences in concepts between the two generations, and the world of monsters is no exception...
