At the end of this year, a new chapter of Illumination Entertainment’s global blockbuster animated film series is about to begin, with bigger dreams and more super pop hits. Ambitious koala Buster Moon and his all-star cast of animal entertainers are about to put on the most dazzling stage show ever... and they're doing it in the dazzling entertainment capital of the world. But there's a catch: They must first convince the world's most eccentric rock star - music legend Bono to lend his voice to a cartoon for the first time - to join them. Buster (voiced by award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey) and his artists have transformed his new Moon Theater into the hottest performance venue in the area, but now he has a bigger ambition, which is to hold the premiere of a new song and dance show at the Christota Theater in the dazzling city of Red Beach. Without any connections in the entertainment industry at all, Buster and his artists - including the always worried pig mother Rohitan (voiced by Gold Award-winning actress Reese Witherspoon), the rock and roll porcupine Ashley (voiced by Scarlett Johansson), the serious and hard-working gorilla Johnny (voiced by Tyrone Egerton), the introverted and shy elephant Mina (voiced by Torey Kelly), and of course the love-loving pig Gant (voiced by Nick Kroll)
