"Singer 2017" was formerly known as "I Am a Singer" and was introduced from the singer competition program of South Korea's MBC TV station. On December 14, 2016, Hunan Satellite TV announced official news that the ace music program "I Am a Singer" has been confirmed to be renamed "Singer" and will be broadcast at 22:30 on Saturday night. It is understood that the renamed "Singer" is a new music program that is different from "I Am a Singer". Although it still focuses on the competition between professional and powerful singers on the same stage, it has been reformed in its overall appearance. Only the competition system has been changed to periodic eliminations. The powerful singers from previous years of "I Am a Singer" have returned. The criteria for inviting guests have also been expanded from the previous "based on the Chinese music scene, looking at the whole of Asia" to the world. International singers are currently being finalized.
