King cannot believe that his beloved child, Princess Barbara, has grown up. He still tries to watch over the princess, but 16-year-old Barbara throws a tantrum at her birthday party. While everyone was upset, the throne was snatched away by a cunning postman, the Weasel. However, not content with being the sole ruler of the kingdom, he also planned to marry Barbara. Princess Barbara ran out of the palace and found herself deep in the forest. She meets the gangster Boogie and his friend the evil bunny. Barbara's interference severely disrupts the ordinary single lives of the two friends. Barbara interfered in everything, arranging her own set of rules and constantly making them uncomfortable with her assumptions about Prince Edward. She imagined how Prince Edward would defeat the impostor, restore him to his position as king, and propose to Barbara. Just like the book says.
