Artificial Paradise

Somewhere in Kyushu, a bus hijacking incident occurred with heavy casualties. Except for the driver Sawai (played by Hiroji Yakusho) and a pair of siblings Naoki (played by Masaru Miyazaki) and Shou (played by Miyazaki Aoi), all the other passengers were brutally shot to death by the murderers. Afterwards, Sawai went away to a foreign country in order to forget the past, but the blood-filled memories followed him like a shadow. Two years have passed in the blink of an eye. In order to resolve his knot, Sawai returned to his hometown and found fellow survivors Naoki and Sae. The brother and sister were in the same situation as Sawai. Their souls were greatly affected, and they were gloomy and isolated. In this way, Sawai moved into the home of two brothers and sisters, and formed a strange family with their distant relative Akihiko (played by Yoichiro Saito). Not long after the peaceful days, a series of bizarre serial murders made Sawai become the object of police suspicion.
