Samantha (Naomi Watts) and her husband Camron (Andrew Lincoln) have a happy family. They yearn for a free life and travel with their children every year. This year, the couple decided to go on vacation in Thailand. Unexpectedly, in an accident, Samantha suffered a spinal injury, which resulted in her being completely paralyzed from the chest down. Samantha would say goodbye to her beloved outdoor sports forever, and could only spend the rest of her life in a wheelchair. The huge blow caused Samantha to change her usual cheerfulness and optimism and fall into depression. She even thought about death.
