The obese and melancholy Javier (played by Carlos Areces) was born into a clown family in Spain. His father died in the civil war. During his lifetime, he asked his son, who had suffered too much pain, to be a sad clown. Time passed. As an adult, Javier found a job and came to a circus, where he met the master clown Serge (Antonio de la Torre) and the beautiful acrobatic star Natalia (Carolina Bang). They are a couple. In life, Sergey is drunk and violent, and often punches Natalia. Although the latter is in pain, she is extremely addicted to this perverted violence. Javier loves this fragile little flower that is often damaged by storms, and Natalia gradually falls in love with Javier's simplicity and kindness. Taking this as an opportunity, the three people entangled themselves in a bloody and bizarre life...
