Unlucky sex, crazy porn

A video has gone viral, in which a man and a woman wearing masks are having sex. However, the woman was recognized. To make matters worse, she is a teacher and is supposed to be a role model. And this is in a post-socialist society that is about to get lost in a social network discourse that includes mysophobic attitudes, pseudo-political know-it-alls, sacred chauvinism, and bizarre conspiracy theories. Everyone has their own opinion. The debate turns into a courtroom about consensual sex, pornography, and more. Radu Jude, as always committed to innovative cinematic experiments, has crafted a smart, satirical trilogy in this work: the first part uses an unhurried and precise lens to focus on the crazy humor of daily bustling life on the streets of Bucharest, showing us what contemporary cinema at the documentary-fiction interface looks like. The second part is a series of prosaic still images intended to serve as an encyclopedia of symbols of our time. The film's finale (albeit an open-ended one) is a discussion at the school where the heroine's raison d'etre is adjudicated.
