Castle of Puppet

At the end of the Warring States Period in Japan, Toyotomi Hideyoshi (Masayoshi Ichimura) is about to achieve eternal supremacy, while the destruction of the Hojo clan is just around the corner. Hideyoshi ordered his subordinates Ishida Mitsunari (played by Uechi Yusuke) and Otani Yoshitsugi (played by Yamada Takayuki) to lead an army of 20,000 to approach the small town of Ninja Castle on the territory of the Hojo clan. The lord of the city, Narita clan leader (played by Masahiko Nishimura), who only had 500 guards, knew that it was difficult to compete. He had already surrendered to Guanbaina, and then fled into the main city of Odawara. After that, the clan leader's cousin Changqin (played by Nomura Mansai), who was called "Puppet Adou" by the people, served as the acting city lord. The funny and naughty eldest relative was dissatisfied with the arrogant words and deeds of the messenger chief Shu Zhengjia (played by Pingyue Da), and immediately declared war. With the support of heroes such as Masaki Tanba (played by Hiroshi Sato), Shibazaki and Izumi Mamoru (played by Yamaguchi Tomomitsu), Sakamaki Tensei (played by Hiroki Narimiya), as well as the entire city's military and civilians, the weak Shinobu City and Toyotomi's army launched a showdown with great disparity... This film is adapted from the novel of the same name written by screenwriter Ryu Wada based on real historical events. It is the longest Japanese film forced to be postponed due to 3·11.
