George Herman Ross, known as "Babe", was the most famous legendary baseball player in the United States during the 20 years before the war. He has been naughty since he was a child, but because of his outstanding baseball talent, he was helped by Brother Mathias (played by James Cromwell), and eventually entered the professional baseball field from a church boys' school. As an adult, Babe (played by John Goodman) first played for the Boston Red Sox. His fat and tall body seemed completely incompatible with the fast and furious baseball, but his signature home runs fascinated the audience in the stadium again and again, and frightened his opponents. He falls in love with the beautiful woman Helen (Trini Alvarado), but the marriage is not easy. The wild Babe hoped to step down and become the manager of the baseball team. However, after many twists and turns, he found that everything came to nothing, and his own era was gradually fading away...
