The Three Sisters of June Light

In Kagoshima, which is filled with a unique style, the once bustling shopping street has become lonely. Crowds of people flocked to the large shopping malls that expanded like monsters, while the streets that exuded a strong sense of humanity could only look back and feel sorry for themselves. The family runs a long-established "Toraya" shop specializing in Japanese confectionery (wagashi) in a shopping district. There are all kinds of troubles in the ordinary life of this family. The male protagonist Mahira (played by Seishiro Nishida) and his wife Keiko (played by Yoshie Ichimo) divorced early, and the marriage and love of their three daughters are also full of bleak colors. The eldest daughter Shizue (played by Yoshida Sheep) returned to her parents' home after divorce, the second daughter Namijie (played by Kazue Fukiishi)'s marriage is on the verge of collapse, and the youngest daughter Xiaorong (played by Tokunaga Eri) is currently in an unfavorable relationship. The June Lantern Festival is approaching, and the story of the three sisters and the people around them is unfolding... This film is adapted from the original work of the same name by the playwright Mizutani Ryuji.
