In a remote place called the Valley, a murder of a mother and her son shocked the whole country. The couple lived next door to Ozaki Shunsuke (Nobumitsu Onishi) and Kanako (Yoko Maki). They stayed in their own little world decadently despite the hustle and bustle outside. Not long after, Ozaki was taken away for questioning by the police on suspicion of adultery with a female suspect and instigating murder, and Kanako was the reporter of the incident. Weekly reporter Kazuhiko Watanabe (played by Minami Omori) was ordered to follow up on the case. Through various investigations, he discovered that Ozaki was a promising baseball star in high school 15 years ago, but was forced to drop out of school due to an incident. He continued to delve deeper and learned many unknown pasts and truths about the parties involved, and gradually became aware of the extremely subtle connection between Ozaki and Kanako. Love and hate are intertwined, with constant editing and chaos. After all, I don’t understand what kind of emotions are involved... This film is adapted from the original work of the same name by Yoshida Shuichi, and won the eighth place in the top ten films of the 2013 Japanese Film Festival.
