Ascend to the Nine Heavens

Jiang Shan has loved rockets since he was a child and determined to be an aerospace expert when he grows up. On the eve of going to the United States for further studies, he married his childhood sweetheart Haiyuan, who stayed at his home to take care of his sick mother. A few years later, when Jiang Shan completed his studies, he declined his mentor's offer to stay and resolutely returned to his motherland's Xichang Space Satellite Center to develop rockets. Out of his love for his motherland and his confidence in China's aerospace industry, Hong Kong businessman Qian Cheng decided to ask the China Satellite Launch Center to launch the communications satellite he invested in and manufactured, Hong Kong Star. Qian Cheng sent his daughter Qian Wang to inspect the mainland. The young scientific and technological workers in my country represented by Jiang Shan moved Qian Wang with their courage to fight and selfless dedication for the motherland's aerospace industry. Jiang Shan politely declined Qian Wang's love in a letter and expressed to her his eternal love for his wife Haiyuan. Qian looked at the Xichang launch base and saw Haiyuan, a primary school teacher. Haiyuan's hardworking and kind-hearted character deeply moved Qian Wang. She learned that teachers were in great need in mountainous areas, so she decided to stay at Hope Primary School. With the joint efforts of Hong Kong compatriots and mainland scientific and technological personnel, the "Hong Kong Star" was finally successfully launched on the eve of Hong Kong's return to the motherland in 1997.
