Winner of the 1987 César Award for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor. It tells the story of two old friends who meet again, and Brown, who is already a famous musician, falls in love with his friend's wife... Pierre is a violin player, and invites his friend, the talented Marchet, to his home for dinner, and introduces his wife Romani to him. Romani and Marché fell in love at first sight. The film changed from Resnais' past jumping style and adopted the dramatic form of a stage play. The story is told in a straightforward manner from beginning to end, relying solely on the skills of the actors and dramatic dialogue. It is simply a drama. Resnais's favorite actress Aizima's profound stage experience made her stand out and win the César Award for Best Actress.
