The Murderer Among Us

Susanna returns from the concentration camp to the ruins of Berlin after World War II, only to find that someone else lives in her apartment, namely Dr. Hans Mertens. He was depressed by the war and became an alcoholic. Suzanne told him to leave, but he didn't want to leave, so they shared a room in Suzanne's apartment and even began to have a crush on each other, until they fell in love. This slightly encouraged Mertens, who then learned that Captain Brückner was still alive and living in Berlin. Captain Brückner was his leader in World War II. He ordered the killing of more than a hundred innocent lives on Christmas Day, including many women and children... The film ranks sixth among the 100 greatest German films.
