Leningrad

In 1941, during the raging period of World War II, the German Nazis invaded the Soviet Union. After four months of fruitless offensive, Hitler decided to use starvation and siege to capture Leningrad. After three years of siege by the Nazis, Leningrad became a city of death, littered with corpses. British female reporter Kate Davis (Mira Sorvino) was separated from her lover American reporter Philip Parker (Gabriel Byrne) while covering the front line and was trapped in Leningrad. Kate, who is isolated and helpless, is helped and protected by the Leningrad Volunteer Army policewoman Nina (Olga Sutulova). The two stood firm in the icy and snowy war, fighting for survival together with the hungry Soviet soldiers and civilians.
