Antarctic Cooker

The film is adapted from a collection of essays written by Nishimura Jun, a former chef of the Japanese Antarctic Observation Team, "The Interesting Antarctic Cooker" based on his own experience. Jun Nishimura (played by Masato Sakai), who was originally a sailor's chef, was sent to the icy Antarctic Dome Fuji Base to serve as a cook for seven expedition members. His wife (played by Naomi Nishida) had to raise her 8-year-old daughter and newborn son alone. In the ice and snow of Antarctica, eating is the seven members of the expedition team - glaciology assistant Kawamura Taishi (played by Kora Kengo), meteorologist Masahiko Hirabayashi (played by Ohama Masahiro), correspondent Nishihira Ryo (played by Kuroda Daisuke), doctor Fukuda Masashi (played by Toyohara Kobu), meteorologist and captain Kaneda Hiroshi (played by Furuseki Yasuhiro), pilot Oko Shiba Kenji (Furudate Kanji) ) and glaciologist Hideyuki Motoyama (Katsuhisa Ikase) - the greatest joy in boring life. Nishimura Jun tried his best to cook all kinds of delicious dishes, and around eating, eight lonely men also performed countless interesting life stories that made people laugh. The film won the Best Actor Award (Masato Sakai) at the Yokohama Film Festival in Japan.
