Based on a real case, the heroine is based on Ruth Ellis, the last woman to be executed in British history. Mary is a beautiful young blonde woman with a husband who loves her. She worked as a salesperson in a cosmetics store, and met Jim, a melancholy and handsome young man, during her job. The two fell in love, and Mary left her husband. But soon Jim fell in love with a rich woman and left her. Mray is so deeply in love with his lover that he cannot extricate himself and spends his days in sorrow every day. Jim came to Mary on New Year's Eve and told her that the woman was leaving him and that he must go see her or else he would die. Mary's pain could not stop him. He promised to come back to Mary on New Year's Eve, but Mary did not wait for him and only waited for the bad news of his suicide.
