The Successor

The story takes place in the small town of Huntington, West Virginia, USA, where there is a Marshall University football team that makes the people of the town very proud, and is also among the top college teams in the United States. For a long time, the Marshall University football team has become a part of local history, and the tenacious sportsmanship of generations of players has been passed down through time and sweat. In 1970, a year that no one wants to remember but cannot forget, the Marshall University football team took a plane back to Huntington after returning from the competition. On the way, a terrible air crash occurred, and all 75 passengers, including team members, coaches, and logistics personnel, were killed. People were shocked by the bad news, and an atmosphere of sadness and depression quickly swept the entire town. At this time, a football coach named Jack (Matthew McConaughey) stood up. He was kind-hearted and could not bear to see the residents depressed. He decided to use his own power to continue the glory of the Marshall University football team.
