The Zheng family gathered together because their father Hesong (transliteration) was dying. Although they appeared to be going well and enjoying a "mainstream" life, they were affected by the shadow of their past family and were shrouded in unspeakable anxiety and uneasiness. Her grandparents made a fortune from the pro-Japanese movement during the colonial period. After the Korean War, her father cultivated the image of a dictatorial head of the family. However, her daughter has lived in the shadow of her father's violence since she was a child. Through the historical trajectory of three generations of a family, this film reveals the beginning of family discord and how various decisions affect them today.
