Quesa (Louis de Funès) brought his daughter Nicole (Geneviève Grad) to a new city to work and live. In order not to be laughed at by her new friends, Nicole lied that her father was a millionaire and owned a luxury yacht. Friends coaxed Nicole to take them to the yacht. In order to avoid being exposed, Nicole had to lie to the yacht manager. The real owner of the yacht is a local underworld boss. He has just illegally obtained a priceless oil painting and hid it in his car. Unexpectedly, Nicole's friends mistakenly thought that the car belonged to Nicole's father, so they secretly drove it out for a ride. In the end, their series of scams were exposed by Quesa. When returning the car to its original owner, Quesa accidentally took the painting away, but he was mistaken for a painting thief.
