A Strong Heart

The film is adapted from the memoirs written by the wife of "Wall Street Journal" war correspondent Daniel Pearl. Daniel (Dan Futterman) went to Pakistan to investigate and report news about a terrorist, but unfortunately he was kidnapped and brutally killed shortly after. His wife Malina (Angelina Jolie) has been praying for her husband's safe return, and her belief in finding her husband has always supported this pregnant expectant mother. She persevered in writing her memoirs, which were filled with every detail of her acquaintance with Daniel. It also made Daniel's journalistic ideals and courage to pursue the truth vividly appear on the page. She wanted her children to know that her father was once a competent journalist. Marina was finally able to accept her husband's murder with strength and calmness. At the same time, she not only wanted to keep her children away from racial hatred and the smoke of war, but also returned to France to continue her career and raise her children to adulthood.
