The Vow of the Virgin

The story takes place in the ancient mountains of Albania, where very ancient rules about marriage and relationships between men and women are still circulated. The young girl Hannah (Alba Rohrwacher) was born and raised here. She has seen the difficult living conditions of local women. The maverick Hannah silently vowed never to marry and became a slave doing housework. So, in accordance with the local law, Hannah made a promise to remain a virgin for the rest of her life. From then on, in the eyes of everyone, she was no longer a woman, and she no longer enjoyed the rights of a woman. In this way, Hannah was given the male name "Mark" and a dagger, and was exiled to the wilderness to fend for herself. Ten years passed in the blink of an eye, and the strong Hannah was still alone, but this time, she once again made an amazing choice-to go to the metropolis Milan to find her sister.
