The Personal History of David Copperfield

This film is a new and unique interpretation of the semi-autobiographical work of British writer Charles Dickens. The story takes place in the 19th century. The famous protagonist David Copperfield struggles to find his own corner in troubled times. From the beginning of his unhappy childhood to the discovery of his gift for writing, David's life journey alternates between laughter and tragedy, but is always full of life, color and the light of humanity. The film has a gorgeous cast, starring Dev Patel, Tilda Swinton, Hugh Laurie, Ben Whishaw, Peter Capaldi and many other iconic British filmmakers. Using a grand and gorgeous stage play to interpret critical realism in a new way, it pays tribute to important literary figures in the world's literary world. It starts from the present and has a dialogue across time and space with the vast and exciting era of more than a hundred years ago.
