The sea is calling

In the late 1970s, old lampmaker Pablo and old overseas Chinese Kim Gen took their wives and daughters to mourn their relatives, Chinese seafarer Chen Hongzhi and Sri Lankan seafarer Najak. After ten years of turmoil, Chen Haiwei came to the "Shanghai" and sailed to Southeast Asia. In Hong Kong, Chen Haiwei and his uncle Chen Hongye recalled that 30 years ago, foreign seafarers Pablo and Najak supported the just struggle of Chinese seafarers. When the "Shanghai" sailed to the waters of Shark Island, the lighthouse broke down. Doctor Li Qi discovered that the old lanternman was seriously ill and transported him back to the ship. Captain Chen discovers that he is his old friend Pablo, and they finally meet again. Wu Mingyue, a young sailor, dedicated his life to building a lighthouse. His tombstone, along with the tombstones of Chen Hongzhi and Najak, has become a symbol of international friendship among sailors.
