Big Bowl of Tea

The film was created by the famous screenwriter Ma Quanlai based on the entrepreneurial story of Qianmen Big Bowl of Tea in the 1970s and 1980s. It tells the story of Yin Shengxi (named Li Shengqi in the play), a street cadre and Communist Party member in the early days of reform and opening up, who led a group of unemployed educated youths who returned to the city. Starting from a big bowl of tea that cost two cents a bowl, they started their own business and overcame difficulties and changed their ideas. They became advanced typical representatives during the reform and opening up period. It fully demonstrates the changes in Beijing's urban development and the transformation of people's ideas since the reform and opening up. The film stars Zhang Shuangli, Shi Xiaoman, and Xie Lian, and 90% of the other actors are professional actors from Beijing.
