In Anyang, an ancient city in Henan Province, in the 1970s and 1980s, the sister (Zhang Jingchu), brother (Feng Huan) and younger brother (Lv Yulai) of a family of five embarked on different paths of life during a period of dramatic social transformation. My sister is in her early twenties. Although she looks thin and quiet, she is strong and stubborn at heart. She will risk herself to realize her dreams, but reality is ruthless. After many setbacks, she learns to resign herself to her fate. Her brother is in his mid-twenties and has a mild brain disease due to an illness he got when he was young. His parents care for him more than ever before. After Shao married a shrewd lame girl, he lived a life that he was very satisfied with; his younger brother was seventeen or eighteen years old, sensitive, melancholy, and had a rich inner world. After being kicked out of the house by his father because of something, he began to look for a life of his own outside. However, what he got was that time changed him beyond recognition.
