Lonely Amanda

Amanda, a 24-year-old rich girl who suffers from friend disorder, decides to find her childhood friend Rebecca to regain their old friendship. This film is the debut feature film written and directed by Italian director Carolina Cavalli. It uses narration to open up the gap between the protagonist and the surroundings, and uses a quixotic grotesque narrative to delicately present the life crisis of two "Beat Generation" girls. Through close-ups of eye movements and body movements, and against the background of bright and gorgeous colors, the friendship between the girls breaks the coldness and hypocrisy of real life. Benedetta Polcaroli ("Perfect Strangers") plays the protagonist, wittily interpreting the fragility and strength of an eccentric girl. Won the Jury Prize for Best Film at the 2022 Villeru Italian Film Festival.
