Anton Chekhov's 1890

Before 1890, the writer Chekov (Nicolas Giraud) Chekhov was awarded the "Pushkin Medal" by the Russian Academy of Sciences in recognition of the spiritual wealth he brought to the world. In 1890, Chekov traveled alone across thousands of mountains and rivers to Sakhalin Island, which was once a place of exile for political prisoners. The hell-like scene on Sakhalin deeply shook Chekov's heart. He began to realize that outside the world he was familiar with, there were so many people living in misery and poverty. From then on, Chekov changed his writing style and began to write works exposing the autocracy of Tsarist Russia, using his trip to Sakhalin Island as material.
