Silent Light

The story takes place in a religious community in northern Mexico. The people living here are extremely devout believers. They follow the Lord's guidance meticulously and always keep the teachings in mind in every word and deed. John (Cornelio Wall) and his wife Esther (Miriam Toews) are residents here. They have been married for many years, and their family lives in the beautiful suburbs, living a peaceful and happy life. However, a storm is surging violently under the calm surface. It turns out that John fell in love with a woman named Marianne (Maria Pankratz). The two often meet privately and enjoy the pleasure of the union of soul and body. The relationship between the two is not just limited to the physical body. John deeply loves Marianne, which means that whenever he and Marianne are together, he violates not only the secular morals, but also the beliefs he insists on throughout his life, which puts John into great pain.
