A Year of Widowship

For Ted (Jeff Bridges) and Marion (Kim Basinger) (Elle Fanning), life is cruel. The deaths of their two sons have made it impossible for them to return to a normal life track, and their love for their youngest daughter Rose (Elle Fanning) has made them unable to part ways decisively. Over the long years, Ted and Marion have maintained this awkward and strange relationship - seemingly in harmony but in name only. The appearance of Eddie (Jon Foster) breaks the strange balance that Ted and Marion's family have worked hard to maintain for many years. Eddie is Ted's assistant, and his existence is a deliberate trap set by Ted in order to achieve a smooth divorce. As Ted expected, the relationship between Eddie and Marion crossed the line, but things did not develop as Ted expected, and he fell into a new dilemma.
