The Story of a Son and the Immortal

The film tells a touching story of laughter and tears between the glassmaker Charlotte (played by Charles Chaplin) and the abandoned baby (played by Jackie Coogan). Charlo found an abandoned baby next to the trash can and adopted him. By the time the child reaches four or five years old, he is already very sensible. The two fathers and sons performed a double act together. The son broke the glass, and the father stepped forward to replace the glass to support the family. Charlo took his "son" to avoid being chased by the police to prevent him from being sent to an orphanage. But the child's mother later got rich and offered a reward to find the child. Someone stole the child from Charlo for money, and he searched everywhere but couldn't find it. The tired Charlo came to heaven in a dream. When he woke up, he found that his "son" and his mother were standing in front of him... This film ranked 67th among the 100 best films selected by the Brazilian "Title" magazine in 1978.
