Little Elephant Xina

The story takes place in a beautiful Dai village in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan. The little girl Yi Huan (played by Lin Tian), her mother (played by Huang Zhiling), and her grandfather (played by Yang Baohe) are anxiously waiting for her father (played by Bi Yuanjin) and her brother Ella (played by Li Yanbo) who went out to make money three years ago. Because her fourteen-year-old brother has reached the day of becoming a monk, this is an indispensable experience for Dai boys to grow into men. When Ella came back, she took the little white elephant that her sister pinched with her own hands and dedicated it to the Bodhisattva in the temple. During an accidental mountain patrol, the brother and sister rescued an injured white elephant. They took good care of it and named the baby Xina. The village chief (played by Lin Changwen) led people to build an elephant house in the stockade, and from then on Xina had her own home. Abba lost money in gambling, and the casino owner asked him to steal Xina and sell it.
