During World War II, two women whose husbands were also drafted to fight in the war and joined the factory became good friends: Kay (Goldie Hawn) is a perfect housewife, and her next-door neighbor Hazel (Christine Lartey) is a fashionable and beautiful woman. The two women simultaneously worked the 3pm to 11pm night shift at a factory that makes aircraft parts. Rocky (Kurt Russell), a colleague who works in the same factory, falls in love with Kay at first sight and immediately pursues her. Unable to bear the consequences of her boudoir, Kay finally agrees to let Rocky into her home - and her bed. Unexpectedly, at the party held by Kai, Rocky and Hazel to celebrate Rocky's birthday, Kai's husband Jack unexpectedly returned home!
