Disney has finally decided to adapt its landmark revival "The Little Mermaid" into a live-action musical! This news was first exposed by Deadline. According to their report, Disney has contacted several heavyweight producers. They do not want to lose to Universal, because the latter is also planning to make their live-action version of "The Little Mermaid" movie. Disney is currently looking for a director for the live-action version of "The Little Mermaid" - their first choice is Rob Marshall ("Chicago", "Memoirs of a Geisha", "The Jungle Book") with whom they have just collaborated on "Mary Poppins Returns 2", and they have already extended an invitation to him.
