Theeb means wolf. In 1916, when the wolf boy was a child, he and his brother Hussen depended on each other and learned the principles of the desert. British soldiers and Arab entourage arrived and asked Hussen to take them to a well next to the Ottoman Empire railway. Theeb did not want to be left behind, hanging by the tail, and they were ambushed together. He wanted to grow up quickly, and ruthless artillery fire blasted away the wolf mark in his blood. The British-born Nachi Abunueva is also a fearless little wolf. It took him four years to complete his first feature film. He returned to his ancestral home of the Jordan desert to shoot ("Desert Heroes" was also shot here), using the mentality and vision of a child to reconstruct the lost nomadic customs and the will of heaven and earth in the desert where history has left no trace. Won the Horizon Best Director Award at the Venice Film Festival.
