My Father Gandhi

The film is directed by Froz Abbas Khan and tells the story of Gandhi's adherence to the strict principles he set, which led to constant conflicts with his wayward son Harilal. Through family conflicts, the film shows Gandhi's indifference to his son and sometimes even being a very domineering father. It shows his helplessness and sadness between his son who desperately seeks his father's love and his own public responsibility. The film is set in South Africa and India from 1906 to 1948 (when Gandhi was assassinated). The film also tells the story of Harilal's depression, addiction to alcohol, and his conversion to Islam to rebel against his strict father.
