On tenterhooks

The story took place in the 1990s. The girl Weiwei (played by Ni Yuanyuan) encounters a fight with others on the road. She is so frightened that she flees to the cabin of the blind masseur Aman (played by Wen Kai). The murderer Guo Tie (played by Hu Zongqi) pursues her. Weiwei's cry for help alarmed Aman, who hid Weiwei and dealt with Guo Tie who chased him to the cabin. Guo Tie, who was injured in the fight, fainted due to lack of physical strength. Aman tried his best to save him out of a sense of humanity. Guo Tie was very grateful after regaining consciousness. He thought he would not be able to escape justice after beating someone to death, so he asked Aman to transfer the living expenses left for his son to his nanny. To prevent Aman from cheating, Guo Tie took Weiwei as a hostage. Aman was stolen on the way, but fortunately Chen Yu (played by Wu Mian) helped her out, and then found Guo Tie's son and nanny.
