Frey (played by Samuel L. Jackson) spent a long twenty-five years behind bars. When he was finally released and saw the light of day, he vowed never to return to that small prison and live a painful life without seeing the light of day. Twenty-five years later, the whole world seems to have changed. Frey is full of hope for the future, but also uneasy. A lively woman named Iris (Ruth Negga) appears next to Frey. Her optimism and unruliness make Frey gradually regain his confidence, abandon the haze of the past, and completely integrate into a new life. However, the appearance of Ethan (Luke Kirby), the son of his former partner, makes Frey understand that the past will never pass. The insidious and cunning Ethan places his target on Iris.
