Master of None

"The Masterless War" tells the story of the mid-Ming Dynasty when the emperor was unable to go to court to govern under the coercion of the cabinet and Dongchang. The eunuch group headed by Zhang Jing, the eunuch of Dongchang, and the cabinet group headed by Wang Zuo, the chief minister of the cabinet, fought for power. Zhao Chongxi, the general manager of the Jinyiwei, remained neutral between the two factions and insisted on being loyal to the emperor. However, Jinyiwei had already planted many traitors by both factions. An overt battle took place between the northern and southern town officials of Jinyiwei, and a secret battle began between the eunuchs and the cabinet.
