The thief Hayashida Yoshisuke has been arrested and imprisoned four times. One day, he met the waitress Tao Zi in a hot spring and lived with her. He also gave her stolen things, but he was caught by the policeman Anton when the incident was revealed. On the night he went to rob a warehouse after being released on bail, Yisuke met nine big men. A train derailment occurs at a nearby station the next day, and Gisuke is imprisoned again as a suspect. In prison, he met the three prisoners who were said to have caused the train derailment, but none of the three admitted that they were responsible. This aroused Yisuke's suspicion of the nine big men. After being released from prison, Yisuke decided to start a new life, met and married Ahua, but he did not tell Ahua about his past. Lawyer Fujimoto asks Gisuke to be a witness to the train derailment incident, but Anton threatens Gisuke to reveal his criminal record if he does not comply with the police's instructions. For the sake of three innocent people, Yoshisuke decided to tell the truth. Anton exposed his shortcomings in public, but Yisuke still gave a true statement to the court about what happened that night... The story is adapted from internal materials of the "Matsukawa Incident" in 1961. This is a film full of comedy, a very pungent satire on the hypocrisy of the police authorities. Of course, the most important thing is the portrayal of Yoshisuke, a character who has been a thief many times but still has a good nature. Director Yamamoto
