Ben Taylor (Joshua Jackson) was told that he had cancer and that even with treatment, the survival rate was only 10%. Frustrated, Ben bought a motorcycle, postponed his wedding to his fiancée Samantha (played by Liane Balaban), and embarked on the westward journey alone without telling his parents, determined to visit the Canadian plains towns on the way, taking photos with all the huge landmarks, until Vancouver Island in British Columbia, and looking for the "Grumps" of his childhood. During the journey, Ben met all kinds of people and began to think about his own life and ideals, including his unfinished dream of being a writer. In Banff National Park in the middle of the country, a distraught Samantha finally flew to ask Ben to return to Toronto for treatment, but found that there was also something wrong with their relationship. The stubborn Ben continued to travel westward until he finally discovered the meaning of travel.
