Man on the Moon

At the beginning of this biographical film, the protagonist Andy Kaufman (played by Jim Carrey) made a curtain call joke to the audience. Andy loved acting since he was a child. As an adult, he naturally became a resident actor in a hotel. However, his career did not go smoothly. Once, his performance of imitating Elvis attracted the attention of Hollywood agent George, who introduced him to the television industry. Before going on camera, Andy learned the secret to humor from an Eastern spiritual class: silence. Andy won over audiences with his unique acting style and entered the sitcom realm that he despised. He created a non-existent character, Tony Cliff, and then used Cliff's identity to realize the crazy ideas he and his partners had. Wrestling matches with women pushed his madness to the peak. Andy kept teasing and irritating the audience until he got cancer but no one believed it. But Andy didn't care, because life itself is an endless joke... The film won the Silver Bear Award for Best Director at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2000 and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor.
