Shoot My Heart

This film tells the story of the "struggle" of two young men trying to fly over a lunatic asylum. The male protagonist Lee Soo-myung (played by Yeo Jin-gu Jin-gu Yeo) suffered from schizophrenia due to guilt over her mother's suicide. She was sent to a mental hospital by her biological father. She was transferred to other hospitals many times and applied for discharge many times, but was rejected for various reasons. Faced with a father who never visits, the cold management of the hospital, and the temptation of "freedom" from fellow hospital friend Seong-min (played by Min-gi Lee), can Soo-myung finally get out of the hospital? This film is adapted from the original work of the same name by Zheng Youjing (transliteration), which won the 5th Korean World Literature Award in 2009.
