Life and Death

The movie has two main lines advancing in parallel. The first main line tells the story of Devi (played by Richa Chadha). She and a young man were involved in the police's "anti-pornography" when they opened a room. The young man committed suicide and his father Pathak (played by Sanjay Mishra) became the target of blackmail by a corrupt police officer. Devi had to leave her hometown. The second main line tells the story of Deepak (played by Vicky Kosar). His family is a low-caste family engaged in the cremation industry, but he fell deeply in love with a high-caste girl Sharu (played by Sweeta Tripathi). However, an accident pushed his ill-fated man into the abyss. The last two main lines meet on the banks of the Ganges. The contradictions of society and the helplessness of life unfold slowly like a long scroll, as plain as water, but also deeply touching.
