Death is Coming

This film tells the daily life of an old woman Angela (played by Danuta Szaflarska) in isolation from the world a few days before her death. In this deserted and lonely world, there is not only her fear of death, but also the happiness and dreams she once remembered. With only the puppy she called "Phlia" accompanying the old man, Angela murmured to herself, asking questions. She thought about her son wholeheartedly, but in the end she could not see him again. When death approaches quietly, Angela always looks out the window at the swing, as if she has returned to the happy days of the past. In the tranquil black-and-white light and shadow that swayed with nostalgia, the film silently recorded the old man's final moments. The film won the 2007 Polish Film Festival Audience Award, Best Actress, Best Sound, and Film Critics Award.
