Cement Garden

In the British suburbs, a family moved to a black apartment. His father (played by Hanns Zischler) died suddenly while repairing the yard, and his mother (played by Sinéad Cusack) became ill and deteriorated since then. In order to prevent her four children from being taken away by welfare institutions, her mother insisted not to go to the hospital, and eventually passed away in depression. The eldest son Jack (Andrew Robertson) and the eldest daughter Julie (Charlotte Gainsbourg) secretly sank their mother's body into cement and lived alone with their younger siblings Tom (Ned Birkin) and Sue (Alice Coulthard).
