Eternal Third-Chome Sunset 1964

In 1964, post-war Japan was in a period of high economic growth. The Tokyo Olympics was about to be held, and the whole country was immersed in boiling enthusiasm. In the Yuhi-machi 3-chome we are familiar with, people’s lives are quietly changing. Chagawa Ryunosuke (played by Hidetaka Yoshioka) finally married the gentle Hiromi (played by Koyuki). His adopted son Junnosuke (played by Kenta Suga) has entered high school and is working towards Tokyo University. The couple is about to usher in a new life. But Ryunosuke has to face the challenge of a new novelist on the one hand, and on the other hand he has to pay attention to his relationship with his critically ill father. The Suzuki car industry next door is expanding and taking on new apprentices. Rokuko Hoshino (played by Maki Horikita), who has grown into an experienced master, likes Dr. Kikuchi (played by Mirai Moriyama) at Morten Paradise Hospital, but some bad rumors make Rokuko very distressed.
